Greetings all you UNusual folks,

The 2009 KC Blues Challenge has come and gone. Congratulations to Mark Montgomery and Max Berry, winners of the solo/duo competition, and Levee Town, winners of the band competition. Penelope and the UNusual Suspects are proud of all you guys and proud that you will be representing Kansas City in the IBC Finals in Memphis this coming January. Good luck, we'll be pulling for you.

Meanwhile on the home front, we are getting ready for the holidays. We have some private holiday parties we are looking forward to as well as time with friends and family. Mark your calendars. We have an open jam coming up at the Hideout in Gladstone Sunday, November 29 starting at 5pm. Help us ring in the holidays in style, bring your out of town visitors and let's show them what a KC blues jam is all about. We are thrilled to announce that our good friend Jacque Garoutte of Levee Town will be producing a recording for us. We will be working with him over the next few months in the studio to get some recording done and finally get a cd out. We're serious this time, really.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. I wanted to send a special shout out to all the folks in the armed services past and present, that sacrifice and do such valuable work for our country. Thank you.

More exciting news is in the works. Stay tuned.
