Penelope
sang her first solo in a church in Harrisonville, MO at
the ripe old age of 5. She loved the reaction from the folks and the applause
that she received and knew then that she wanted to sing some day. Her
mother found a piano teacher and her love for music began. Penelope took lessons for 11 years
and in high school was a member of every kind of music activity/class/program
that was available.
Years passed.
A baby was born, relationships came and went, and Penelope needed music back to soothe her soul. (There's just nothing like music to mend a broken heart.) A friend urged Penelope to go with her to Knucklehead's Saloon in Kansas City, MO, one Saturday afternoon. She was not at all interested in singing at first, but after about 3 months of prodding Penelope admitted "I finally did it and it felt GREAT!!" She hasn't stopped singing since. Penelope met Tom Tipton and Dwane Goldston there and they encouraged her to continue to the pursuit. The trio met a couple of times just for fun to jam and the rest is history.
Penelope's enthusiasm for music and her sunny personality are infectious. In her words, "I love these guys! Each of them brings something special to our group, not only musically, but in their spirits. With Tom's unshakeable strength, Dwane's never-ending humor, Justin's easy-going-ness and Chris' outstanding musicality I am so blessed. Not only for this once in a lifetime opportunity to perform with such great musicians but to have their friendship. We have a good time together on and off the stage and hope that everyone that comes to see us enjoys themselves, too."
