WrightTom Tipton got his first guitar in the 8th  grade and through hard work and practice he quickly rose to rhythm guitarist in the 2nd best garage band in a 6 block radius of 102 N, 72st Gladstone Mo. Tom continued to play with friends through high school in local bands at parties and even a sock hop or two. But as is the case with so many 50 something musicians,  his story is one of marriage, kids, mortgages,  and insurance.  So music took a back seat for 25 years. About 10 years ago, Tom fell back in love with music.  He got his old guitar out and started to take lessons, and soon realized that too much time had passed to be the next Eric Clapton.  So, Tom switched to the bass and fell in love with it.(after all nobody dances to a lead guitar solo).  Since then he has played with some local musicians as a fill in player and in the house band at a local weekly jam.  He also performs with a loose group of musicians sometimes known as the Knuckleheads All Stars which is where he met Penelope. That's where the UNusual  Suspects were born. Tom's true love in music is song writing.  He has written 50+ songs and always tries to tell a story.   Some are humorous and some are sad, some are just observations of the world around us. Tom hopes you enjoy our music as much as he enjoys making it. Without music the world would suck!
